Into the Dark — Selvagens Islands Expedition
Created an animated social post for Thermo Fisher's Advancing Materials blog, promoting coverage of the Selvagens Islands Expedition — a groundbreaking multi-disciplinary research mission to a remote North Atlantic archipelago with volcanic caves similar to those found on Mars. Selected the strongest image from a provided set of expedition photography and conceived an original animation concept: a flashlight reveal effect built in After Effects that gradually illuminates the cave scene from darkness, mimicking the experience of exploring an unknown environment. The animation brought narrative tension to a social post, turning a science blog promotion into a visually compelling story.
